and we’re backkkkkkk- hope you didn’t miss us too much! xo

tunes on tuesday? haha this song/band are weird, but i love it for some reason. I don’t think it would be as weird if the video wasn’t so damn awkward!

i’ve listened to A LOT of music over the past week while studying, old music, new music, throwbacks, pandora=my savior. So i figured i’d share one of my favorite discoveries, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. NOT ONLY are they from VERMONT, aka our neighbor/sister state. (gotta support the new englandahhhsss) But Grace’s voice ROCKS and they make some majorly groovy music. It’s almost like a throwback to the 70’s but more wickedly awesomeeee. So i’ve naturally been listening to them on repeat since they popped up on Pandora. Their name had been hanging in the back of mind because i believe someone else mentioned them to me but sometimes it takes me one listen to actually be interested/get hooked on it. This video made me laugh, it’s the hotel version of my favorite song, Paris (oh la la). Its pretty hilarious, they are playing perc on ice buckets, a bottle, and the wall. I particularly love when the hair dryer comes in. I’ve also posted the original version. CHECK IT OUT! follow us and grace on twitter too!

so in honor of my sister and her friend who made me listen to this (and listen to their awful renditions of this all weekend), i thought i would share Cher Lloyd with the BATCH world. You all probably have heard of her because apparently i live under a rock- but if you haven’t, she’s a contestant on the british x-factor, and while i still don’t know if i’m feeling her, alot of people are.  Plus, as much as i deny it, i’ve been walking around singing this in a horrible british accent for the past day and a half. So check her out!

Normally, i hate openers when i go to concerts, especially when i don’t know them. So naturally, I recently went to a Kate Nash concert and was not super pumped to see that i had no clue who the opener was and even showed up a little late to avoid. Well, i didn’t avoid and i’m really glad that i didn’t. Peggy Sue is a British trio and they rock. The use guitars, some drums, and occasionally an accordion (come one people, how cool is an accordian?). They make sweet melodies and both girls voice’s blend together to create a haunting sound. My friend and i had the oppertunity to meet them after the show and got all of their autographs. They signed it: “thanks love” reinforcing the fact that I LOVE BRITS and could listen to them talk or sing anyday!!!!!

You can download FOR FREE some of their music from their American label by clicking HERE. Make sure you listen to Watchman, it’s a personal favorite!
